SERVING SOCIETY BY STRENGTHENING THE INDIVIDUAL

Care for Children
Objective
The main objective of the Care for Children project is to
provide free education to the rural and underprivileged
public. Since its inception, the project has been rendering
service in the field of education for children. The schools
under the project impart value free education in a stress
free and child friendly environment.
At our schools children broaden their vision and deepen
their roots, developing all facets of life while blending
ancient wisdom and modern technology. The schools also
provide free mid-day meals, free uniform & foot ware, free
books, and free transportation. Currently there are 39
schools providing the above facilities for children.
Children are admitted to the school purely on their
socio-economic background, without prejudice to caste,
creed and religion. A vast majority of our enrolled children
are the first in their families to ever go to school.
Unlocking a Child’s Potential
The complete potential of the child is unlocked by providing the right environment for the child to blossom.
- Innovative Learning Process: A proven process of self-learning that builds life-skills and nurtures leadership.
- Teachers who are Eternal Learners: Qualified teachers who receive special orientation and training by the
“Art of Living".
- A Curriculum for All Round Development: A syllabus that develops on NCERT recommended curriculum, and helps
a child blossom in all aspects of life.
- Eco-conscious surroundings: Buildings and infrastructure that are eco-friendly and in harmony with the
environment.
- Wisdom from a World-wide Family: The experience and knowledge of the large Art of Living family is available to
us from all over the world.
The major emphasis on the curriculum in the school is on value based holistic education. Apart from the standard State-
recognized curriculum, the school focuses on the overall personality development of the child. Special attention is given
to values, health and hygiene because of the socio-economic background they come from.
The daily schedule starts with the children being picked up from their homes. The morning time is spent learning Yoga
and then they spend time learning the ancient language/ heritage of India ΠSanskrit. The State-recognized curriculum
is taught in English and due importance is given to the local language. During lunch-break, the children are provided mid-
day meals. The menu is different everyday to make sure there is variety in the food served
To develop the artistic talents of the child, there are music and arts classes. Sports form an important aspect of the daily
curriculum. Local sports like kabaddi and kho-kho are taught to kids along with volleyball. Some students take liking to
watering and taking care of plants. The children also learn meditation, which helps them to handle their mind and
emotions. They learn some more breathing techniques in the ART Excel workshop - devised for children by His Holiness
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of the internationally acclaimed Art of Living Breath workshop, for more focus and
concentration.
Our Teachers
All our teachers are well qualified and enthusiastic about making a difference to the lives of the children. For instance,
the teaching staff of the Bangalore school comprises of one Headmaster and nineteen teachers.
The Headmaster - Mr. Gangadhar N. Beednal (B.A., B.Ed and M.Ed) is a graduate in Arts and Education and holds a
Masters in Education. He has been teaching for the last five years in this school and is actively involved in the day-to-day
affairs and the long term planning and management of the school. He did a research-based case study on the
academically backward children and trained them successfully. The school under his aegis performed well in academics.
The results of the Public examination of the 7th grade was 100% and the school team also achieved a rolling trophy for
the District level sports event. Our school has been adjudged as the most progressive school. In a short period of three
years of having started high school education, the school has performed much better than most of the established
schools in the area.
For all these achievements the Headmaster Gangadhar has been awarded as the best teacher in the Bangalore District
by the State Bank of India. One more of our teachers Mr. Ramchandrappa got the Environmental project certificate from
the Environmental Education Project Board Bangalore.

THE CARE FOR CHILDREN SCHOOLS
Tribal Schools: In the remotest and poorest parts of
India, these schools are the only chance these children
have of any form of education. Blending vocational
training and basic education the Tribal schools enable
these children to stand on their feet in a rapidly changing
world.
Rural Schools: Run in villages these are conventional
schools that provide all round education to fully tap the
creativity of the child.
Urban Schools: These schools are run for the poorest
members of the cities, with a greater emphasis laid on
human values along with all-round education.
Vocational Training: Provides older students with the
practical and creative skills required to make a living and
to help make their personal lives fuller.
Vocational Training for Women, who have traditionally
remained at home completely dependent on their
husbands, with little opportunity for social contact or
vocational training, now have a chance to expand their
opportunities, their independence, and to find new
purpose in their lives. Classes for women include
tailoring, typing, and traditional Indian handicrafts.
These programs have been fully implemented in India,
and are now in the planning stage for countries in South
America and Africa. The Dollar-a-day and Euro-a-day
programs allow people to donate and help provide food,
shelter, clothing, and education for these children.

Learning Environment
Our schools nurture the complete child, including mind,
body and spirit. Family values are strengthened and social
barriers are replaced by progressive attitudes. In addition
to the basic curriculum of science, math, reading, language
and arts, several innovative approaches are incorporated
into the students' daily routing.
These include:
- Laughter: Studies are presented as an enjoyable
challenge instead of as an overly-serious undertaking.
- Friendliness: Students are encouraged to make new
friends continually, fostering a feeling of closeness
and togetherness.
- Belonging: Each child is encouraged to feel that
his/her teacher is also his/her friend and confidant.
On this ground of mutual trust and admiration, a
feeling of belonging to a caring community is
cultivated.
All programs are open to
people from all walks of
cultures.
