Having lived through the violence and destruction of two
wars, the people of Iraq certainly know stress. Many Iraqis –
including children - are suffering from depression, anxiety
and other stress-related illnesses. A recent survey indicated
that many are relying on heavy prescription medication for
relief from the strain and its side effects.
Last fall the World Health Organization announced that
millions of men, women, and children traumatized by war Art
of Living Foundation’s experience in relief and disaster
management are now enabling them to get results.
The U.S State Department has given
the Art of Living Foundation a grant to
offer more Art of Living courses in
Bhagdad for Iraqis.

operated similar de-stressing courses in Macedonia,
Kosovo, Croatia, Gujarat and in New York after the
